Our Story

Masoud Attar, proprietor of Uomo Menswear, has been a fixture of the San Francisco fashion scene and a respected member of the Union Square business community for more than thirty-two years. After several years importing luxury leather goods for wholesale and retail, he opened Uomo Menswear on Sutter Street in 1988. The store rapidly became a destination for well-dressed men in the Bay Area, and has become equally popular with conventioneers, tourists, and other visitors from around the world.

What brings clients back repeatedly is Masoud's carefully curated and highly distinctive merchandise, personalized service, and fair pricing. Masoud’s impeccable taste, always evident in his own apparel, is the foundation of the store’s success. He is constantly vigilant to emerging fashion trends, and he hones his awareness through frequent visits to New York, Milan, and other fashion capitals across Europe.

Masoud believes that a successful business is built one customer at a time, and he has a unique ability to identify a client's fashion inclinations. He sees clothing as a form of self-expression, and so he first tries to understand clients’ intentions before suggesting a solution.
